2022 Wreath Decorating Contest
To participate in the Wreath Decorating Contest, register and decorate your wreath using the criteria of the categories indicated below and return your wreath to the West Volusia Historical Society by Friday, November 25th 12 noon. They will be displayed at Christmas in Bloom on Saturday, November 26th where they will be judged, and prizes awarded. You may pick up your wreath after judging or make arrangements to pick it up the following week at the Historical Society. You may also donate your decorated wreath to be sold in the Holiday Boutique at the Christmas in Bloom event.
This is an event sponsored by the West Volusia Historical Society, held in the beautiful outdoor pavilion at Select Growers in DeLeon Springs. In addition to the Gingerbread Cookie Decorating Contest, there will be a Holiday Boutique, delicious baked treats in our Old Fashioned Bake Shop, and a Wreath Decorating Contest. This will be a fun event for the whole family. There is no cost to attend Christmas in Bloom and there is plenty of parking. For more details about Christmas in Bloom, click on this link.
Programs and services provided by the Historical Society are funded in part through this annual event.
Registration is Required. Register in person at the West Volusia Historical Society Conrad Educational and Research Center located at 137 W Michigan Avenue in DeLand. The office is open Tuesday – Saturday from 12 noon to 4 pm. Pick up your wreath to decorate when you sign up.

What is Christmas in Bloom?
Who can enter the contest? Anyone age 16 and older. Note: Kids 15 years and younger may want to participate in the Gingerbread Cookie Decorating Contest. See information about the Gingerbread Cookie Decorating contest at this link.
Registration Deadline: Tuesday, November 15th. Registration Fee - $25 per person. This fee includes a 17" artificial boxwood wreath to decorate.
Judging: All decorated wreaths will be displayed and judged at the Select Growers Garden Center during the Christmas in Bloom event at 1 pm. Prizes will be awarded by category. Additionally, all those attending Christmas in Bloom will be able to purchase tickets to vote for People’s Choice. You may take your wreath home after judging or arrange to pick it up at the Conrad Center the following week. Or you may donate your wreath to be offered for sale in the Holiday Boutique at the Christmas in Bloom event.
Join other wreath decorators in a fun workshop. We will have glue guns and a variety of decorative materials that you are welcome to add to your wreath. Or, if you already have your plan for the contest, bring your wreath and your materials and just enjoy the fellowship of other creative folks! To participate in the workshop, you must register for the wreath decorating contest, which includes the 17” artificial boxwood wreath which you will decorate. Ages 16 to adult. Workshop is FREE.
