The West Volusia Historical Society’s fourth annual Christmas in Bloom is celebrating The Twelve Days of Christmas. The holiday season celebrations will be held in the WVHS Conrad Research Center located at 137 W. Michigan Avenue, DeLand. The events begin on Tuesday, November 14 and continue through Saturday, December 2.

• Enjoy yummy homemade goodies and beverages from the Old Fashioned Bake Shop and take home some of these great selections. Check the calendar for dates the Bake Shop is open.
  
• View the entries and cast your vote for the People’s Choice Awards for the kid’s Gingerbread Decorating Contest and adults’ Stocking Decorating Contest.
  
• Drop off your gifts and let our Gift Wrapping Elves wrap them all for you!
  
• Join in the fun of the many special events during The Twelve Days of Christmas: Kids’ Make-a-Gift activities, Gingerbread Contest (for kids), Stocking Decorating Contest (for 16 and over), Ladies’ Wine & Shop Night, Shop in Your PJs, Gift Wrapping Service, Men’s Night, and our Evening Music & Shopping Event.

Holiday Boutique

This is a magical destination for holiday shopping. The boutique is bursting with handcrafted gifts created by the West Volusia Historical Society Makers’ Guild. Bake Shop

Traditional holiday confections: cookies, pies, breads, savory treats and sweets, and much more. Enjoy a snack and coffee while you are at the Bake Shop and take some yummy treats home to celebrate the holiday season with your family or as a tasty gift. 

Gingerbread Cookie Decorating Contest

Participants ages 13 years of age and under pick up materials and decorate a gingerbread person however they wish and return them to the Conrad Center. Judging will take place on Saturday, November 17th and great prizes in each category will be awarded. All attendees will be able to participate in choosing our People’s Choice winners by voting with coins for their favorites. For information on how to register for the contest, click on this link.

Stocking Decorating Contest

Adults and kids 14 years of age and older decorate or embellish a stocking in one of four themed categories. Decorated stockings will be displayed on Saturday, November 25th where they will be judged and prizes awarded.  For information on how to register and pick up your stocking for this contest, click on this link.

Tuesday, November 14th Partridge in a Pear Tree - 12 noon - 4 pm Kick off shopping. 6 - 8 pm Holiday Boutique open before and after WVHS Local History Talk.

Wednesday, November 15th Two Turtle Doves - 10 am - 12 noon.  Home schooled kids Make-a-Gift, gift wrapping included.  Snacks provided. Gifts range from $2.50 to $7.00 and includes free gift wrapping. Registration required. Call 386-740-6813.  12 noon - 4 pm. Shop in the Holiday Boutique .

Thursday, November 16th Three French Hens - 4:30 - 7:30pm. Wine & Shop - featuring wine & hostess gifts and Sock Monkey Madness. Wine and Cheese; Gift Wrapping Service ($).  12 noon - 4 pm shop in the Holiday Boutique. 

Friday, November 17th Four Calling Birds - 4 - 7 pm Bake Shop open. 12 noon - 4 pm shop in the Holiday Boutique - . Deadline to submit Gingerbread Contest entries.

Saturday, November 18th Five Golden Rings - 10 am - 4 pm Bake Shop open. 12 noon - 4 pm shopping in the Holiday Boutique. Gingerbread contest judging at 1 pm.

Saturday, November 25th Six Geese Laying - 7 - 10 am early shopping (PJs are OK!) with coffee & muffins. Gift Wrapping Service ($). 12 noon - 4 pm. Bake Shop and Holiday Boutique open. Stocking Contest judging at 1 pm.

Thursday, November 30th Ten Lords Leaping - 6 - 8 pm Men's Night Make 'n Take ($$). Beer & pretzels. 12 noon - 4 pm shop in the Holiday Boutique.  Gift Wrapping Service ($) - drop off gifts to be wrapped.

Friday, December 1st Eleven Pipers Piping - 12 noon - 7 pm Shop in Holiday Boutique while enjoying holiday music.
