West Volusia Historical Society
The Robert M. Conrad Research and Education Center has reopened for research on a limited basis from 12 noon to 4 pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays. To support continued efforts to promote the well-being of our community, tours of the Henry A. DeLand House are suspended.
DeLand Memorial Hospital and Veterans Museum and Burgess Pavilion are open for groups of four persons or less, Monday - Friday from 12 noon to 4 pm. Masks and appropriate sanitizing will be required.
Researchers are strongly encouraged to make an appointment either by email: email@example.com or by calling the office: 386-740-6813. Please indicate the topic of your research. Having this prior understanding allows us to provide the appropriate research assistant available for your maximum results.
In keeping with the CDC and state of Florida guidelines, the number of researchers allowed in the building at one time will be limited to four individuals, and researchers will be seated at appropriate distance. Research materials will distributed by the staff to the research tables.
When you visit or volunteer, please:
- wear a facemask properly while inside our buildings
- wash or sanitize your hands upon entry into our buildings; hand sanitizer or soap & water are available
- maintain a personal distance of 6 feet from those with whom you do not reside
All surfaces will be sanitized by WVHS staff or volunteers after researchers leave and at the end of every business day.
Gift shop purchases can be made online, by phone, or in person. We will accommodate curbside pick up.
No public in-person events are being held in the Conrad Center at this time. Committee meetings with less than 10 people may meet in the building on days the Center is not open for researchers, or continue to meet virtually.
West Volusia Historical Society will continue to update you as the schedule evolves. Please check back here and stay tuned to email, Facebook and other digital communications.
